Volunteer

There are many opportunities to volunteer for the Nebraska Academic Decathlon throughout the year!

Our events are held at different locations around the state. We sponsor:

• Scrimmages in November and December.
• Regional competitions the third Saturday in January.
• The state competition in Omaha the third Friday and Saturday in February.

At all three events, proctors, runners and test scorers are needed.

Ideally, we have two proctors in every testing room to administer the written tests, ensure no cheating occurs, and make sure the students have all the materials they need.

Runners pick up and distribute the tests in between rounds. Test scorers scan the answer sheets and enter the scores into the database.

At regionals, in addition to these positions, volunteers are needed to help oversee the Superquiz event in front of the public and give out awards.

At state, all of the previous volunteers are needed. We also need timers, rotation officials, speech judges, and interview judges.  The latter two require a few short training videos.
